Single Ladies 2 hour movie and the first episode of the follow up TV series about a week ago I wanted to turn the movie off by the time the DVD player hit the 7 minute mark. I chose not to write a review at all as it would have been horrificly scathing, and with so few black leads on tv, it was just best people form their own opinion as maybe I simply wasn't their demographic.
The highly anticipated new romantic comedy series, Single Ladies, premiered last night on VH1.The show following best friends Val, played by Stacey Dash, Keisha, played by LisaRaye McCoy and April, played by Charity Shea, started off with a bang aka a whole lot of drama! There's a fair amount of sex and cattiness in the two hour premiere, but the former has all the heat of a perfume commercial, and the latter wouldn't ruffle a hair in "Real Housewives" territory, which is clearly a source of inspiration The main problem, though, is these ladies and the men in their lives keep getting saddled with exclamations like, "Whoa, drama overload!" and, "Don't' even get me started on your ass.
