Super 8 Movie Review

Super 8 is a high action film that will have you glued to your seat as you wait in anticipation to find out what happens next. This is probably the best movie to start off the summer with because it really is worth seeing. As with any movie, it’s important to approach Super 8 with your expectations properly aligned to what the film has to offer  and in this case, that offering is a mix of nostalgia, thrills, and good-old-fashioned movie magic, conjured by a cast of charmingly funny and talented young actors.

Super 8 was supposed to be an homage to the 80s output of Steven Spielberg and his production company Amblin Entertainment. Mention Amblin to any film fan that grew up in the 80s and watch them get warm and gooey at the mere thought of classics like E.T. There are dual tones to Super 8. On one side, it's a family drama about a boy who wishes to find a relationship with the father he has never really had to connect with. The loss of his mother has forced Joe to turn to his father for guidance, and the loss of his wife has forced Jackson to become sole guardian to his son.
