Singapore Flood

Singapore Flood: Rainfall on Sunday was more intense than that of June last year, with about 65mm recorded within 30 minutes on Sunday morning, compared to the 100mm within two hours on June 16, 2010. Among the flood-prone areas under review is the fashionable Orchard Road shopping belt, home to some of Singapore’s richest people. Some ground-floor establishments in the area, including a branch of the Hermes luxury chain, are now protected by sandbags.

Three floods in a period of one month is unprecedented in Singapore On 1 June when it rained heavily the rain was so heavy that the wind was blowing against the glass door of the restaurant forcing it to open at times. After sitting too long, we decided to walk about as it was too boring to continue seating.
